Why blast clean woodwork?

One of the most transformative applications of blast-cleaning woodwork lies in its ability to freshen up older pieces, almost as if turning back the clock. Over time, wood can lose its vibrancy due to various factors—weather, aging, or external coatings.

Through skillful blast-cleaning, one can bring out the wood’s inherent, natural colour. It’s like unearthing hidden treasure, revealing a richness that might have been concealed for years.

Another dimension of blast-cleaning woodwork focuses on removing paint layers. Whether it’s an old furniture piece or a wooden artifact, stripping off the paint can transform it, taking the wood back to its genuine, organic form.

Will this damage the woodwork?

The heart of a successful blast-cleaning process for woodwork lies in the choice of abrasive. With wood’s delicate nature, there’s no room for error.

The right abrasive ensures that the wood’s face remains untouched and undamaged. This decision isn’t just technical—it demands a profound understanding of the wood type and its unique characteristics. SET sandblasting have many years of experience in this field and can guarantee that your woodwork will be protected and the end product will look good as new.

If you want a good job doing, Sam is your guy. Made an absolute great job of blasting my truck. Didn't miss anything and didn't blow holes in everything either. Will definitely be using Sam again for other jobs

The lads were brilliant from start to finish. Along with the guys who pointed the house, they really transformed the front of the house and the original wall so that our property looks back to its original condition. Once we get it pebbledashed, the brickwork will really pop. Professional and good lads too. Would highly recommend!

Sam was fantastic to deal with. Ultra professional, really friendly guy who offered great advice from first to last. Very punctual, extremely polite and hard working, and a laugh too which is also important to us. The difference to our gable ends is unbelievable as you can see on the before and after pics. our farmhouse hadn’t been sandblasted in a very long time, if ever, the photos dont fully picture the huge difference but it’s night and day and has lifted the detail of the stone unbelievably. We have more work to do and we would never use anyone else, cannot recommend Sam highly enough, just a top bloke who is extremely skilled at his work. Thanks again.

Sam and SET Sandblasting where recommended to me by a friend of mine who used to do sand blasting. A friend that doesn't recommend people lightly! I got Sam in to blast clean our grade II listed house and he travelled a fair way to get to us. He cleaned both the masonry and timber and had to work around some delicate, historical, decorative plasterwork. He was punctual, hard working and very skilled at what he does. He was very conscientious and respectful of the property and its history. He Worked the weekend to get the job done and even helped us with some of the preparation works beforehand. His quote was more than fair and he stuck to it too, even after doing a bit more than originally asked for. I don't really write Google reviews but i cant recommend SET enough and felt i had to post something. People with a work ethic like Sam are hard to find these days. Five stars from me!
